A Major Milestone in the Development of Munich International School:

As we near our 60th anniversary as a flagship international school, we are excited to announce an important milestone in our development.

Excellent schools prepare their students to become ambitious, ethical, and intellectually capable adults who make a positive difference in the world.

Excellent schools also ensure that young people with the right attitude, abilities, and potential have access to the educational opportunities of their school. They take special care to create opportunities for young people whose access to financial resources may not be sufficient to cover the tuition of the school.

Excellent schools, therefore, widen their circle of impact by offering scholarships.

Munich International School is currently in the process of creating a scholarship to benefit young people in our region who would be valuable additions to our school community. The MIS Scholarship will pay school fees for a small number of select young people who demonstrate a high level of alignment with our values and our mission and very strong potential to contribute both to our school and to the world beyond.

The MIS Scholarship will be funded by donations that are directed to a dedicated foundation. We began collecting donations for the scholarship at our MIS Gala that was held on Friday, 13 September 2024 at the Rosewood Hotel. We were absolutely delighted that so many generous parents in our community attended the gala and contributed to the scholarship fund. In fact, we were able to collect over €300,000 on that evening. This single event catapulted us to over 60% of what we need in order to launch the MIS Scholarship for school year 2025/26.

The purpose and aim of the MIS Scholarship are to:

• widen access to MIS to extraordinary young people with financial need
• bring young people into our school who will reinforce and strengthen our values, our mission, and our commitment to academic excellence
• help us to maintain our non-profit status by demonstrating our contribution to the wider community

We want your support! This is an important milestone in the development of Munich International School. Long-established and highly regarded private schools around the world distinguish themselves through scholarship programmes that transform the lives of young people who otherwise would never dream of attending such outstanding schools. MIS, with its nearly 60 years of history and a record of excellence, now joins such institutions and takes up its responsibility to extend its impact.
